Hey. I’m Briana Loudermilk, RDN. I was certified in 2011 and, since then, have had the privilege to use my education to acquire an array of experience. I believe we all go through trials for a reason. Now, working with Marlena Tanner RDN, CEDRD-S, has permitted me to utilize not only my educational and work experiences but also my personal life experiences as well. I am honored to be able to offer nutritional counseling to others who battle the same self-destructive mindsets and behaviors that I have worked through.

I am passionate about helping others turn their stories into something beautiful as well. Starving myself was a low point, but desire to have children, and my faith were the driving forces in my recovery. I am mama to three precious kiddos who melt my heart daily and am dedicated to choosing a path of healing and true health not only for myself but for them as well.

My personal struggles started in my teen years. As I pursued athletics into my college years, my eating disorder morphed from anorexia nervosa to exercise bulimia. In the midst of those personal lows, however, I learned a lot about how to eat well as being a competitive athlete. While attending Cal Poly SLO, it also became apparent that I have an allergy to gluten. As it turned out, Celiac Disease runs in my family. Once I finally connected with a registered dietitian, she was able to help me navigate my food intolerance. There is so much freedom when your body isn’t angry at your food choices! I went on to graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and then completed my dietetic internship through Cal State University Long Beach.

My learning didn’t stop when I became a mother. My second pregnancy provided yet another learning opportunity in nutrition. I had gestational diabetes throughout the pregnancy. My heart goes out to all of those who have to monitor their blood glucose levels daily. There is hope and relief with nutrition support amid this condition too.

My own experiences and training with Marlena Tanner, RDN, CEDRD-S have prepared me to counsel those with eating disorders. Working in long- term care and nutrition consulting has grown my appreciation for various disease conditions as well as general nutrition.

In my time as an RD, I have worked with a diverse community of clients. Food allergies, sports nutrition, and eating disorders are my passions. General nutrition and various disease conditions are areas I have training in as well. I look at food as both fuel and medicine and have a passion for helping others heal. Together, let’s travel toward a happier and healthier you! The best is truly yet to come!
